Terms of Service Review

SimpleLogin is an open-source email alias service by Proton AG that forwards emails to hide a user's primary address. It requires an email to register and does not persistently store email content.

Message scanning

Unencrypted messages sent from external providers to SimpleLogin are automatically scanned for spam and viruses.

Multiple accounts banned

Users are prohibited from creating multiple free accounts. Accounts must also be created and maintained only by their effective users.

No email storage

Emails are deleted from servers as soon as they reach their destination. Undeliverable emails are kept for 7 days.

Short IP retention

IP addresses in server logs are deleted after 7 days by default. Permanent IP retention only occurs if a user breaches the terms.

Anonymous payments

The service accepts anonymous cash and cryptocurrency payments for premium features, alongside traditional payment methods.

Warrant notification

The operator complies with necessary warrants or court orders, but will typically inform users when data requests are made unless legally prohibited.

Full data deletion

Deleted accounts are instantly removed from the active database and purged from all system backups and logs within 30 days.

Metadata visibility

Due to SMTP limitations, the service has access to sender and recipient addresses, originating IPs, message subjects, and timestamps.

I use to have tones of email addresses to keep things organized and safe. It was hard. SimpleLogin solved the issues! I LOVE how I get 0 spam emails now. I also love how I can easily turn an email off, and back on if I ever needed it again. I can't stand ProtonPass! So I'm happy that SimpleLogin is a stand alone service. No KYC!

Added context: User has stated in future comments that all his/her reviews were fake, but this one in particular seems honest.

Great for ompartmentalizing services that require an email. Convenient website and app for mobile. Wish they made one for desktop. Paid teir gets unlimited aliases, PGP encryption for "real" mailboxes and ability to reply from alias.

lordly_nitrate_889

Description says "owned by Proton", I had no idea. Does anyone know when this happened?

SimpleLogin is easy to use and useful, and although the free plan has some limitations, it is still available at no cost. I recommend using it together with Proton Mail, which is also provided by the same company, Proton AG.

It's a very useful platform for privacy enthusiasts. It would become even better if there was an Onion domain name. There's a free plan that's enough for most users.

foolhardy_flutist_5501

I've used them for years, no issues. Interface is a little dated, and clunky to disable an alias. Biggest drawback is that some services don't accept emails with their domains, but that's not SimpleLogin's fault.

ramshackle_struggle_1397

If you face issue of your mail domain being blocked by services this is a good tool to bypass that / increase your anonymity

vigorous_glove_2523

Amazing service. Used this for years and still do to this day. It is so handy when getting spammed with emails that you cannot get rid of to just completely block the sender. I have had many instances over the years where the email used starts getting emails from a completely different service. Either because they sold it or it was breached. Very reasonable pricing for what you get.

Great service with neat hidden features such as reverse-aliases, PGP encryption and on-the-fly aliases. Besides being well integrated in the Proton ecosystem, using the API with other services like Bitwarden works fine too. Pricing is very competitive for what it offers.

unified_listing_4404

Great service for hiding your e-mail address and protecting from spam

intoxicating_samovar_4245

Great tool to fight spam and hide your real email. Included with Proton premium. Interface is clear and intuitive. Enable/Disable alias in a click. You can check how many mails have been blocked and forwarded.

irritable_amour_862

Good tool, works with Proton mail.
