Terms of Service Review

BasicSwap DEX is a fully decentralized, open-source, peer-to-peer exchange with no central party, no fees, and no data collection. Swaps are atomic and coins are refunded automatically if a swap fails or gets stuck.

No data collection

BasicSwap operates on a peer-to-peer, open-source basis with no central party to collect or share your data whatsoever. This website also does not retain your personal data.

No fees

BasicSwap operates with 0% trading or service fees and no commercial activities. Only standard blockchain transaction fees apply.

Atomic Swaps

Swaps are conducted on-chain using atomic swap technology, ensuring funds are automatically refunded to original owners if a swap fails or gets “stuck” due to unmet conditions or inactivity.

Decentralized

The platform is fully decentralized, with no central point of failure. It relies on the SMSG network and official coin cores, meaning it is not dependent on any team or organization to operate.

Open-source

The entire platform’s code is openly available and fully open-source on GitHub, allowing users to verify and audit its operation.

Run your own node

Running a local BasicSwap node is currently necessary and your node must stay online throughout a swap. You can run it on a cloud server/VPS, but are advised to encrypt your instance for security.

Very sovereign, pure atomic swap with 0 middlemen, no arbitrators or anything. Tho it’s very hard for non techy users, things need to done in this sense for liquidity to improve.

It’s not a fiat on ramp, just atomic swaps.

Commits the fatal sin of making you go through a github page if you want to use it, thus annihilating any chance of true adoption. Remember: anything other than a simple “install” or “start trading” button on the front page will make you lose 90% of people. When you go to their site you’re greeted with 5 choices: “Github”, “Build from source”, “Bash Install (Linux)”, “Guides” and “Terms and Conditions”. Scrap all that shit and put a simple “Download and start trading” button.

It’s very harsh but you’re not wrong. It’s a shame because the product is amazing, after digging a lot I think there’s not better for atomic SWAP. I reached the basicswap admin about this issue, hope it will change soon.

Top rated but ultimately it’s a not easy to setup and when I finally did there was no trades so I just wasted time, I gave up and used Haveno Reto which deserves this spot, sorry :/

Kudos for the nice design though it does looks great, the guy who got paid from the CCS to make it / owns it scams and plays dirty with other developers though, so for that reason I give 2 stars this time…. Kewbit posted a bunch of proof, I find it hard to argue against his points too.

A bit hard to setup for non techy users. But it’s the best product pure atomic swap. Zero intermediaries zero arbitration zero permission. Need more liquidity and more awareness for this amazing product !

Yeah, the tech is solid — true atomic swaps are the future. But the UX gap still scares off most casual users. Once liquidity improves, this could go mainstream.

Very good exchange, although quite hard to setup. Perfect for advanced users
