Don't understand all the negativity here. their website is slow as hell and availability is spotty too, but the numbers have always worked fine for me...been using for 4 years. relatively expensive also, but expected for this kind of service. 4/5, my main gripe is that often you want to buy a number and theres nothing available at all for a while.
Thank you for your review, we are working with our partners to secure larger batches of numbers, but it make take some time, as our infrastructure is currently on a full 100% use as well.
I don’t really think it’s a great service. I didn’t have a good experience using it
I tried using this service, but it seems like it’s not working the way I expected it to work.
Review No.2
I decided to test them one more time just to 100% make sure, its a scam, they give you used numbers. i choose signal as sign up to their service just to get a used number with a pin number set.
0/10 Get Scammed somewhere else
On our verification system we do have the ability to replace the number if not working, have you used this functionality? We also have automatic refunds if paid by card, if by crypto its unfortunately manual. I would be happy to refund you if you wish, please contact us via our support channels.
created an account just to leave this review.
this service is shit, i dont even know how they have an 8 here.
Payments take forever to process on the blockchain, so the fact that they give you 30 mins after potentially waiting 1+ hours for the payment to get sent is very unrealistic expectation, the first time i paid, i missed my window because i was caught off guard doing other stuff and when i tried to open a support ticket, it just gave me a generic error.
I was like "okay this might be an issue on my end" the second time i paid and waited infront of the computer for 2 hours before i could finally use my session just for the verification code to not work, to make matters worse, when you get that code you're not allowed a second try so another 1.5 euros wasted.
Bought sms verification and it just doesn't work. There is only one uk number available and no refund policy.
Awesome euro dumpster idk what to do now.
Hey, We've been suffering from a lack of numbers recently, which is probably why you've received the same number (we've had a bug). Good news is that we have been now able to acquire more numbers, which means that our verification service has been improved significantly, that being said, if you wish I can also provide a refund for your session, please message us via our support help page in the dashboard.
I messaged support right after writing this review, they said that i need to open the ticket in the verification session... But I can't do that, because i ordered it without making an account. I have a saved receipt and can prove my crypto transaction.
Absolute scam. Paid in XMR for a Telegram SMS verification and they give you a fake number that is already registered and when you click the button "this number doesn't work" they give you another one that has the same problem from a limited list, with a 30 minute timer, so you lose time rushing to check every number when no number they give you works, it's fraud.
Hey, We've been suffering from a lack of numbers recently, which is probably why you've received the same number (we've had a bug). Good news is that we have been now able to acquire more numbers, which means that our verification service has been improved significantly. We do explain that the verification session is 30 minutes (we've actually increased it from 20 minutes to 30 minutes, with 20 minutes being quite standard). If you wish, I can also provide a refund for your session, please message us via our support help page in the dashboard.
Please let me know, thanks!
The support team responds to tickets very quickly. They usually answer promptly, with only one exception when there was a delay due to website updates, which was understandable.
One area for improvement is service availability. The ability to use the service depends on what's available at the time of booking. Increasing the number of available options (in number and countries) would make the service more reliable.
- says numbers are available for several countries (there's a warning that ONLY UK numbers are unavailable). I topped up the account, tried to buy a number from any country, all numbers are unavailable.
- tried to give their beta email alias service a chance, their email forwarding doesn't work, I never received the email.
Amateurish service with frequently breaking infrastructure.
Hi, thank you for the feedback!
We do want to flag that both issues you've mentioned are covered by notices we have actively displayed in-app and on our website, the number issue is UK-specific and temporary, and numbers from other countries should be available as normal. Email forwarding is currently in beta, meaning it can be intermittently unavailable, which we also communicate upfront.
We're sorry the experience was frustrating, and we'd genuinely love to help get things sorted for you, please feel free to reach out to our support team.
Experience:
- Did not create an account ( did not want to )
- Ordered an eSIM to see how reliable the service is
- Made payment via Monero
- Please wait for 10 confirmations on the transaction > I wait > 40 confirmations out of 10 > nothing happens the order doesn't move along > the payment link expires > go fuck yourself?
- Contacted support > they responded after an hour asking which payment i used > matter is still unresolved (the order is 4 hours old now)
General:
- I was FORCED to register to make a support ticket
- App doesn't really remember your user/password
- If you didn't provide email and try to reset your password you can't BECAUSE IT NEEDS EMAIL, even though you're handed a secure passphrase at registration
- If you try to change any of your information from inside the "app" you will go to a blank page with credentials: Empty Dict
Overall: Amateurish unreliable service, severely undercooked and not thought through website. I'd avoid wasting my time here.
I just wanted to reply here and say that we have successfully helped this customer with their payment issue, unfortunately our guest system that was implemented yesterday didn't account for all cases and shown wrong XMR transaction amount where it didn't include the transaction fee, this caused the payment process to get stuck even though our Monero instance returned that the payment was detected and had 40/10 confirmations it wouldn't let it through as the payment complete status was false due to unknown to the customer transaction fee (pico amounts). We've modified the process now to process all new transactions with the correct amount and also allow any payments made before to go through as well.
As for the other suggestions, I'll let our team know and put it in the pipeline to be improved or fixed. Thanks!
Scam! They shows that numbers in stock but after top-up no numbers are available. Avoid that crap guys
Not a scam, unfortunately we have had issues acquiring new SIMs along with message sending / virtual numbers in January, this is most likely why you saw virtual numbers not being available. We informed our customers both on the landing page / platform and status page regularly and with updates, so I am uncertain about your complaint, however I can only apologise for the issue your encountered.
Rest assured we do have numbers in stock now for Czechia, with UK coming in by Saturday this week. We've also launched our new product (long-term numbers) which allows for both sending and receiving of messages directly from the SIM inside a device. We also top-up those numbers regularly which means that they will never expire (in comparison to some of our competitors).
We've changed the name of our phone number product to short-term numbers and explained how each product works with the most to least features being Long-Term -> Short-Term -> Virtual.
Hey everyone, team from Crypton.sh here!
We have recently updated our ticketing and support to be available right in the platform, eliminating the need for sending and receiving of emails. We are already seeing improvement to response times and amount of tickets we are able to resolve, it should be much easier for you to contact us now. We also have Session & SimpleX support available, it can be found both on our landing page as well as our support page. We also added a (for now) simple Knowledgebase which might answer your questions more quickly. We have revamped products we offer as well as our landing page in its entirety, and are working on updating some of the old UI we have in the app section of the platform with a lot of updates completed already.
In addition we started providing a eSIM data service, seeing as we are being advertised as such for some time now (we didn't have this service until a couple of weeks ago).
Thanks for reading!
"Warning! This number might not receive any verification messages, by purchasing this number you understand that we will not refund this number if that is the case." message is white text on white background. No refund after contacting support.
Added context: The comment provides a clear screenshot of the message written in white so it becomes "unreadable"
We understand your frustration, however this information is also available in the FAQ as well as our knowledge base. We did respond to you to indicate that we couldn't replicate the issue you were experiencing with the white text on a white background.
Tried deposting funds but they did not appear it is now saying my order ID expired. I reached out instantly and haven't heard anything yet but it's only been a few hours. It still says it's waiting payment but I paid it.
Will update if my deposit ever lands.
Was unsure if I could edit, funds deposited, number works fine receives texts etc so i'd up it to a solid 3/5. Numbers and service work as it should, support seems to be non existent on Session at least. I'd recommend it
I recently purchased a phone number from this provider, but faced some issues due to a bad batch of numbers. Thankfully, they provided an automatic refund option which made the process easier. However, when I tried to buy a new one, I discovered that their UK phone numbers were not suitable for my needs.
In order to resolve this issue, I reached out to their support team multiple times (5 times in total) over a month ago, but have yet to receive any response. It's not like they're overwhelmed with support tickets either, if you take a look at support tickets number, you'll see that they don't receive many tickets to begin with.
Also, I read online about them randomly losing your phone number. I don't want to go into details why, or how it happens, but the fact it happens is concerning. However, the service itself is functional for short-term and temporary needs, but it is not reliable or suitable for anything serious or long-term.
Been using Crypton.sh for a while now and overall it works well. I like the no-KYC policy and the encryption setup feels solid. Setup was smooth and delivery was quick. Support could be a bit faster, but aside from that it’s been reliable so far. Good value for the price.
Everything was perfect for months until last month when sms started to get clogged.
Currently is not working for me, and contacted support 5 days ago without any response.
Didn't receive funds on my balance (used Monero). Account recovery isn't working. Dashboard isn't working on onion site, only front page. I don't trust them, nor should you.
The problem with the onion website appears to be that all the links are using HTTPS, while their onion service is not configured to support HTTPS. Changing the URL from HTTPS to HTTP resolves the issue, but it creates a poor user experience, as users must manually alter the form submission from HTTPS to HTTP in order to log in.
Hi, have you tried to contact support?
I did. Still waiting for response.
Great, please, get back here if you get a response. In the mean time, I will also try to contact them.
Thank you. They have resolved my issue. Unfortunately, all phone numbers have been sold out while I was waiting.
After sending payment website throws error for my account and this is after I contacted their support due to their system not seeing my payment. Funny enough, before sign in my account, everything works fine. I used this service as I thought they can be trusted. Scam!
Nice service, price is fair (14eur/mo), had no problems with numbers, I might be just lucky tbh
Completely failed service, they reuse numbers, many services prevent you from using it, funds get stuck, and you can't ask for a refund.
I am not easily spending words like "scam". But I don't know how else to define this.
I used their service to get a Telegram SMS verification number. You are specifically asked for which service you need the number. I selected Telegram.
The first time the number had already been used. I paid for nothing.
The second time the number was working. I set up the account, activated 2FA. I thought all was good.
After that, I started receiving message after message of Telegram sending me codes to access the account. 2FA was protecting me in that case. But then, after a week or so... the REAL scam came to be.
Got a message from Telegram stating that somebody had requested to delete my account and that the only way to stop this from happening was inputting a code that was going to be sent by SMS only. This procedure is described here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Telegram/comments/1dd4ijp/telegram_sent_me_a_request_to_reset_account/ and here: https://core.telegram.org/api/account-deletion
Since I obviously don't have access to the number anymore, my account is going to be deleted in two days time.
Would anybody do this out of spite, when they see that a number has already been used to create a Telegram account? I don't know, I cannot exclude it. But how would they then get access, since these numbers are one use only?
It seems to me far more likely that it's Crypton.sh themselves that periodically send these requests for deletion, in order to re-use the same numbers over and over and over again.
Avoid at all costs.
I wonder if there are any really honest services in this space. If you sell a SMS authorization for Telegram, that number should be banned from further sales regarding Telegram, it's not hard.
Added context: This comment makes claims without supporting evidence.
We regret this incident, and we can certainly understand how distressing it is to be cut off from a Telegram account that you had previously secured using 2FA particularly when the response includes terms such as “scam”. We take this matter very seriously, which is why we are responding to this question head-on.
We do not, and cannot, issue any requests for deletion of Telegram accounts on our client's behalves. We have no access to your Telegram account, no way to initiate the deletion process of Telegram, and no desire to do so. It is done through Telegram’s own procedure and needs to be confirmed via SMS to the phone number linked to the account.
The problem you are reporting here is well-known to be associated with using SMS one-time codes for permanent account binding, which is something our verification product does not do. Our SMS verification solution allows access to a number (for up to 30 mins) only in order to get a one-time signup code. Once the session is over, you are no longer able to access this number. The number becomes eligible to be returned to the pool again after some cooldown period. As the result of using the same number for another user of the same service, various login/recovery/registration attempts for the account tied to that number will create additional signup codes and also trigger Telegram’s account deletion message if an account takeover attempt occurs from someone who has access to that number.
On the first attempt, a number already registered should qualify for a free replacement or refund, contact support with your session details if that wasn’t resolved.
For Telegram or any service where you may need SMS again (recovery, 2FA, cancellation of deletion), use a long-term rental, not one-time verification.
If you share your session UUID, we’ll review any eligible refund. We’re sorry for the distress, but we don’t orchestrate account deletions to recycle numbers.
Replying to the "Added context" remark, how could I provide evidence without compromising privacy? If there is a way, please do let me know.
